Diane Boghrat is Program Director for the NSF HDR Imageomics Institute and Program Director for the newly awarded international AI and Biodiversity Change Global Climate Center. Diane is an administrative operations specialist and program/project manager who specializes in cultivating relationships and community engagement, strategically developing and implementing complex interdisciplinary research programs, and providing leadership and strategic direction to improve organizational structure and efficiency. Before joining the Imageomics Institute, she served as the Program Manager for the EmPOWERment NSF Research Traineeship program at The Ohio State University, a $5M grant designed to augment STEM graduate education through interdisciplinary training in sustainable energy systems. Prior to coming to Ohio State, she was co-owner and CEO of an R&D company, Simuleer, based in Los Angeles. Diane has worked extensively in higher education at larger-research institutions including the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and the University of California Santa Barbara (UCSB). At UCLA she served as Director of The UCLA Foundation, which manages the Universities $5 Billion portfolio, and on the senior leadership team of the Associate Vice Chancellor for Alumni Affairs and Advancement Services. She also managed a portfolio of events and workshops in experiential learning for alumni and students while at UCLA Alumni Affairs, and oversaw the implementation of interdisciplinary programs for both national and international scholars at the NSF-funded Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics. Prior to joining UCLA, Diane worked as an administrator at the Institute for Collaborative Biotechnologies at UCSB.  Diane received her B.A. in Physical Anthropology from UCSB in 2007 and will complete a masters degree in educational studies with a concentration in higher education and student affairs at The Ohio State University in May 2024.
